YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION PARTNERS
   
Description of Initiative:     
On September 17, 2008, a group of 20 senior adult citizens gathered at the Asterisk Communications studios in Ocala to review
local media.  This group was introduced to local radio, met our personalities and investigated electronic advertising.  They were also
instructed on local media employment opportunities.  LOMP enjoyed today's radio technology and reviewed current advertising
campigns, both local and national.  Public service announcements and requirements and the future of technology were also discussed.
                   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION COUNTY
   
Description of Initiative:    
On Thursday, December 4, 2008, a group of 35 leadership class members, led by our Operations Manager, Shane Finch, gathered 
at WTRS and Big 92.9 studios to review local media employment opportunities.  This group was introduced to local radio,
investigated electronic advertising and radio technology, the methodology of music programming and simulcast operations, and 
electronic advertising sales as a vocation.  They also met our personalities.  Public service and the future of technology were also
discussed.                
                   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION YOUTH
   
Description of Initiative:    
On October 1, 2008. a group of 31 honor students from Marion County Schools visited the Ocala WTRS and Big 92.9 studios.  This
young group discussed the future of local media and mass media trends.  This group was introduced to today's radio technology, the
the methodology of music programming and simulcast operations and electronic advertising sales as a vocation.  Public service and
the future of technology were also discussed.  LOMY students also met several of our paid interns who began their broadcasting 
careers as students like those in the LOMY program.  They were also introduced on local media employment opportunities.
   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  JOB TALK BROADCAST  
   
Description of Initiative:  
Asterisk Communications runs an on-air Job Talk Show every Saturday from 11:30am - Noon in the Gainesville area and is
sponsored by Florida Employer Advisory Council, Inc.        
                   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  ONE STOP WORKFORCE CONNECTION
                   
Description of Initiative:     
Asterisk Communications has partnered with One Stop Workforce Connection.  Together we have developed an internet page  
describing radio broadcasting career opportunities that links to their job placement website.  Additionally, we run public service
announcements making the public aware of the website and promoting One Stop's Job Fairs.
   
YEAR:    2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:    UNIVERSITY of FLORIDA JOB FAIR
                   
Description of Initiative:    
On October 16, 2008, General Manager, John Starr, participated in the job fair at University of Florida College of Journalism and  
interviewed students.  Two interns accepted positions with our company.    
   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  UNIVERSITY of FLORIDA JOB & INTERNSHIP FAIR
   
Description of Initiative:    
On March 26, 2009, our General Manager. John Starr, participated in interviewing of students seeking radio internships and jobs.
He interviewed fourteen students, and as a result, two interns were hired.    
                   
YEAR:    2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:    JOB FAIR      
                   
Description of Initiative:    
On January 21, 2009, Asterisk Communications Co-Sponsored a Job Fair at the Davis Center in Archer, Florida.  Promotions  
were aired for this Job Fair on our Gainesville station.        
   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  INTERNSHIP PROGRAM  
   
Description of Initiative:    
Our interns have responsibilities that include writing, voicing and producing commercial announcements and live
programming, and creating promotional proposals for clientele.  The interns are guided to meet content deadlines and have
the responsibility to complete assigned projects in a timely fashion.  We provide training on various equipment as well as guidance
to carry out their assignments.  As of September 2009, there are three interns employed.  Two of our interns are from Central Florida
Community College and are majoring in Journalism.          
                   
YEAR:  2009   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  SALES INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
   
Description of Initiative:    
A student was selected from the University of Florida Internship Fair in October 2008.  She was a sales intern at our Gainesville
stations for three months in 2009 and performed the duties of a sales person with the mentoring from our sales reps.
